How can I get work done in the EShop?

Any electronics repair can be brought into the shop to be looked at.  Speak with one of the techs in the shop and they will fill out a work order to have the repair looked at in accordance with the shop's repair policy.  Any other job such as network wiring, fabrication, job quotes, research or design work needs to be coordinated through the shop supervisor.  Contact the shop supervisor to have your non-repair type project scheduled.

How much will my repair/project cost?

Believe it or not labor costs are FREE!  You only have to pay for any materials used.  The materials charge will be charged out to your funding or grant once a month.

When will my repair be finished?

As our goal under normal circumstances the EShop will try to get your repair fixed within 10 working days.  This of course is assuming a normal work load and any parts that we need are already in stock.

What kinds of things do you fix?

We will make an attempt to fix most anything where electronics seems to be the source of the problem.  Our success is largely determined by information provided by the customer, availability of appropriate documentation (schematics), and availability of parts.  Please understand that our expertise is in general electronics and we do not possess the training to fix every electronics device that has ever been manufactured, but we'll do our best.

Do you fix computers?

We will install memory, disk drives, network cards and do some very basic trouble shooting on most computer models.  We will not however diagnose any software problems.

What kind of parts do you stock?

We have a fine selection of analog & digital components, transformers, connectors and wire.  In addition we also have limited supplies of hand tools, computer and miscellaneous supplies.  The type of stock that we carry is largely determined by what the EShop uses in it's daily operations and customer demand.

What kind of equipment do you have for lending out?

The equipment used for loaning out is older equipment, but it is in good working order.  The equipment must be signed out and is available for a limited time.  The equipment must be returned immediately upon EShop request.
