Color Wheel Questioning

This questioning would take place after the students made their first disc and tried to spin it.

Q: Why did you choose those colors?

A: “Because they are the lightest and we need to get white.”

Q: How did that result compare to Jonny’s whose colors were darker?

A: “He got a similar reaction.”

Q: So, does it need to be only the lightest colors?

A: “No, because we got the same reaction.”

Q: What if you use a mixture of dark and light colors?

A: “Maybe we’ll get closer to white.”

Q: So this got you closer, why is that?

A: “Because it’s the more colors you add, the closer to white you get.”

I would then have the students try again to make a disc that creates white.
