Currently, Willy Haeberli works with Tom Wise and Mark Chapman on a project in spin physics for the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). The project aims to calibrate the polarization of the RHIC proton beam within 2% error. Tom Wise presented the proposed magnet design for the polarized atomic H jet and explained the jet polarimetry calculation at the SPIN 2002 conference. (abstract) (presentation) Tom Wise talked about updates in the design and performance at SPIN 2004. (talk) (session summary) Willy Haeberli reviewed the first experiments using the target at the recent American Physical Society meeting. (ppt) (pdf)
